Production house Vyjayanthi Movies has officially confirmed that Deepika Padukone will not be part of the upcoming sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. In a statement shared via Twitter, the makers said that after careful consideration, they have “decided to part ways” with the star.
The announcement included pointed language suggesting that the decision was rooted in what the producers saw as insufficient commitment. “Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more,” the tweet read.
