PM Modi complimented Diljit Dosanjh for his incredible career journey from ‘pind’ to global prominence saying, “It is a matter of pride for us when a boy from a small ‘Hindustan’ village takes centre stage among international stars and shines“. PM Modi: I love your music, Diljit: Thank you for mentioning my mother and the Ganga river.

But the meeting has come under fire from farmers protesting over the meeting, calling into question Diljit’s commitment to their cause. Many farmers were dismayed because he had supported them during their protests in 2020 and they felt that his actions went against what he said he would do.

Dijlit ended the now huge “Dil-Luminati India Tour” progressively perfectly in Ludhiana at the last show on 31 December 2024. In two months, the tour worked its way through the major cities of Bengaluru, Mumbai and Jaipur.

At the 2025 Met Gala, Diljit Dosanjh became the first male Punjabi artist to walk the red carpet. He wore traditional attire mixed with avant-garde fashion. He wore a custom ivory sherwani. It featured metallic thread and mirror work. Prabal Gurung designed the outfit, while Abhilasha Devnani styled it.

The look was a modern take on the luxury of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. He paired it with a contemporary cape. His presence celebrated South Asian identity worldwide. It received praise in fashion circles for boldly blending heritage with modernity.
