Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) announced Rajat Patidar as their new captain for IPL 2025.

Following Virat Kohli, who oversaw the squad from 2013 to 2021, turned down the invitation to return as captain, this choice results.

Rajat Patidar, a standout domestic cricket player for Madhya Pradesh, was the top pick for the role. The franchise chose him because of his great leadership in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored 424 runs in 10 games.

Another seasoned player with established captaincy credentials, Krunal Pandya was also under consideration for the post but will still be included in the leadership program.

Head coach Andy Flower and Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat of RCB made the announcement during an earlier today press conference. Along with adding fresh stars like Josh Hazlewood and Liam Livingstone at the IPL auction, the squad has kept top players including Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal.
