Samay Raina says, in the audio message, “Comedy has no responsibility. Comedy is to take you away from reality and make you have fun. “If you give them moral lectures, it won’t be entertaining,” he says, also emphasizings that comedy should be about entertainment and not about imparting moral lessons.

Social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment during a broadcast. This led to legal action and public backlash. Since concerns over harsh language made the show creators remove the episode from YouTube, the National Human Rights Commission asked for it to be removed too.

After two weeks since a statement about a controversial post on his show, India’s Got Latent, comedian Samay Raina is back. He announced his return with a comeback tour, making a strong re-entry into comedy. He did his first public appearance at the screening of Hai Junoon web series in Mumbai and mingled with his fans while posing for selfies. After inquiring about the return of his show, Raina chuckles and uncaringly responds with, “Arey, pata nahi.”

A few days ago, he posted a message on Instagram and seemed to hint at all the trouble he had to withstand during the issue, and wrote: “Bahut ghutan si thi? (Was it very suffocating?), indicating that he is grappling with an emotional conflict, but that in the present and generally, things are going well. His upcoming tour covers Europe, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. It aims to offer audiences a blend of fun and self-reflection.
