The staggering turnout makes it the largest concert in India and the largest in Asia. Hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket ground in the world, and packed to its 1.25 lakh capacity as much of the ground space was filled with fans.

Coldplay’s India concert, the last one in the country on Republic Day, was part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. Gigantic tunes like “Yellow,” “Sky Full of Stars,” and “Viva La Vida” filled the outdoor arena as the band rolled through a set packed with the fan-favourite concert staples and the floating, 2010-released music video that came to define another popular generation of aughts-era pop songs as massive and radiant as their visuals.
Chris Martin of Coldplay charmed the local audience by greeting them in Hindi and even singing a few lines of the Indian national song Vande Mataram to make the occasion. All 85 thousand filled the stadium and sang the pride national anthem of India together.
This concert surpassed records set by members of the international stars club, such as Justin Bieber, and members of the local superstar club, including Diljit Dosanjh, whose 50,000-odd-capacity gigs in India consistently drew similar numbers on par. Coldplay’s feat reflects the burgeoning appetite for live musical performances in India and clinches the entertainment industry as the country’s new best.

The experience went beyond the venue as the entire event was streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar for fans across the country to tune in, taking the concert further across all shores.
In short, not only does Coldplay have a memorable gig here, but an unbroken consecutive record in the field of live music history of India with this concert
